My name is Beena Raichura. I am an occupational therapist and an instructional technology consultant with MCPS.
My goal is to provide training and consultation to teachers and get them to feel confident to incorporate technology in the classroom with all students. My expertise is in the area of word prediction, Clicker 5, key boarding and embedding accessible technology strategies in the classroom for grades pre K-5. I work collaboratively with a team of three occupational therapists and a special educator.
The goal of my team is to train teachers to apply the principles of universal design of learning (UDL) to support school teams to meet the needs of all students. My team focuses on training teachers to use accessible technology, develops and shares resources for implementing the principles of Universal Design of in the classroom and mentors MCPS staff on consideration of assistive technology.
